On June 28, 2019, based on the nomination from the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and following approval of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Chair of the Northern Forum, Daryana Maximova was appointed the Acting Executive Director of the Northern Forum.

Daryana Maximova (PhD) is an Associate professor with the Institute of Modern Languages and International Studies (North-Eastern Federal University) and a Senior Fellow with the Canadian Department of the Institute for US and Canadian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow). She is an expert on Arctic issues and an Executive Director of the Endowment Fund of the UArctic. Since 2018, Daryana Maximova is leading the coordination council of the Northern Sustainable Development Forum, which will be organized in Yakutsk on September 24-28, 2019. |
