On November 24, representatives of the Northern Forum Schools Association, established in September this year, visited Mongolia to provide methodological assistance to Russian language teachers in Kharkhorin Somon.
Teachers visited Russian language classes, held consultations for students and teachers on preparation for the Russian language Olympiad, rehearsals with ninth-grade girls for expressive reading of the poem “Winter Morning” by Alexander Pushkin, and discussed the plan of upcoming events.
The teachers were introduced to the project, which received financial support totaling more than 50 million tugrik, and which has been successfully implemented at the school for two years. The children prepare their own products on modern yogurt-making equipment, which makes it possible to automate the whole process, and offer for sale yogurt and drinks made of berries grown in the school garden.
The guests were once again convinced of the united spirit of the employees of School No. 2, who played volleyball. Six teams fought for the title of school champion. Everyone plays: from the principal to the technical staff.
During the weekend, the guests accompanied by teachers from two schools in Kharkhorin visited the most famous natural attraction of Mongolia - Orkhon Waterfall, or Ulaan Tsutgalan, which reaches 24 meters in height.
On the way, they visited one of the schools in Bat-Ulzain Somon. The guests noticed that schools in Mongolia pay great attention to the leisure time and comfortable working place of teachers.
In Bat-Ulzijin school, spacious rooms for teachers are provided, where everyone sits at a certain table with inserted shelves. In addition to the teachers' lounge, there are rest rooms with sofas.
On December 5, a meeting was held between students of the two countries: 9th grade students of school No. 2 in Kharkhorin Somon of the Mongolian People's Republic and 9th grade students of the school named after A. Osipov in Berdigestyakh village of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Despite technical problems, the live lesson was a success. Children from both sides presented in Russian about their classes, asked each other questions and sang “Katyusha”. Mongolian schoolchildren showed movements of the national dance, girls recited a poem learned in Russian. Young men from Berdigestyakh school recited poems in their native language. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, the students showed interest in each other. We think they will find a way to communicate with each other in the future.
