On 20 February, the Project Office for Arctic Development, together with the Arctic Youth Project, organised the «Development of Arctic Youth Movements. In search of common meanings».
«Any organisation working for development and progress should pay special attention to youth. Young people are energy, ideas and the future, without which it is impossible to move forward»
- Maxim Dankin, Executive Director of the Project Office for Arctic Development.
The round table included a presentation of youth organisations and associations specialising in the study and promotion of the Far North. Project leaders presented their activities and outlined the goals of their organisations, such as popularising knowledge about the Arctic, organising expeditions, and creating a talent pool for Arctic infrastructure projects.
The event was attended by Tatiana Makarova, Project Manager of the Northern Forum Secretariat and Vice-Chair of the Northern Youth Forum for International Activities. Tatiana spoke about supporting youth within the Northern Forum and shared plans for the coming year.
