The Northern Forum Infectious Diseases working group opens an international Symposium on New Priorities in Tuberculosis Control in Circumpolar Regions of the Arctic. The event is happening in Yakutsk right now.
Focal point is the Phthisiatry SPC of Sakha Republic, led by Alexander Kravchenko, who is also the chair of the working group. Key-note speaker currently is Dr. Andrey Maryandyshev, main tuberculosis doctor of Arkhangelskaya oblast, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Working Group on Circumpolar Tuberculosis Monitoring, Arkhangelsk. There are also participants from US, Canada, Mongolia, Khanty-Mansiysky AO, Arkhangelskaya oblast, Kamchatka, Chukotka etc.
