In September 2020, the international Northern Sustainable Development Forum was held in the city of Yakutsk.

Within the framework of this event, the I Youth Northern Forum (YNF) was held, which brought together talented youth, outstanding scientists, leading experts in the Arctic and the North. A large number of international events were held: student conference, seminars, round tables, online workshops.

Following the results of the YNF, it was decided to further develop youth cooperation in the Arctic. It has been proposed to host several international events under the YNF in 2021.

One of such events is the organization of an international Winter School, which would bring together active students, youth, scientists not only from the regions of the Russian Federation, but also from foreign countries. The Northern Forum Secretariat and the Youth Northern Forum, together with the universities of Yakutia - the Arctic State Agrotechnological University, the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts, the Churapchinsky State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and the North-Eastern Federal University - started the Winter School from March 22-31, 2021.

The International Winter School is held in English online on the Zoom platform. During the Winter School, speakers will familiarize listeners with food production based on Arctic raw materials, technologies for growing vegetables in conditions of "double cold" (cryolithozone and low air temperatures) and freeze-dried products with an extended shelf life, as well as about the peculiarities of crop breeding in the Arctic. It will be interesting to get acquainted with the research of the Yakut aboriginal cattle, horse breeding.

mportant to reproduce the knowledge of indigenous peoples on the collection, preservation and joint consumption of food. Mastering knowledge of food and its sources is critical to the preservation of indigenous cultures, as well as to their health and well-being.

Recipes for traditional nutrition are also important for the adaptation of the newcomer population to climatic conditions, as evidenced by the history of expeditions in past centuries and medical and biological observations of the health of children of migrants to the north.

We invite lecturers, scientists, specialists, managers, students, graduate students to participate in the International Winter School with projects (research) concerning the knowledge of indigenous peoples about food and their relationship with management and / or health. Presentations can provide examples of indigenous peoples' resilience to continued participation and knowledge transfer of food through research.

Every day the school starts its work from 9.00-11.00 from 22-31 March 2021.

Those interested can join the school's events by writing to the coordinator of the winter school Irina Dranayeva at .
