«Scientists have to work together, because if we learn something, we should know how to manage different natural systems together. It's a complicated situation right now, and the most important thing we can do is to realize that once this is over, once the conflict is resolved, we can start working closely together again. We have to keep that in mind all the time».

President, Chairman of the Board at Marine Exchange of Alaska, Member of the Arctic Economic Council commissions

Today the Northern Forum held its first press conference after a long break, timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Science and the Day of Diplomatic Worker.

We take this opportunity to congratulate all those involved in scientific activities and support staff on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences!

The last 4 years have been extremely difficult. First, the pandemic, then a sharp and global change in the international situation created such significant obstacles and it seemed difficult to get out of the deep dive. But we can proudly state, that thanks to the regions and business partners who kept their membership and supported us in the most difficult moment, we managed not only to stabilize the situation, but also to significantly strengthen the organization, to expand it geographically and in terms of level.

A great number of people: regional leaders, state and public figures, outstanding people in various spheres and enthusiasts, who united under the sign of the Northern Forum, united into a powerful team. Today we realize that we have passed the most difficult period, having gained a lot of knowledge and competencies, increased our potential, and are entering a new, stable period of development.

That's why it was important for us to share our common achievements, to check with the professional journalistic community how right path we have chosen and to share our plans for this year, which is planned to the very end and filled with large-scale events and projects.

We are very grateful to everyone who came to the Republican Media Center and joined online from Moscow, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and Yakutia. We would also like to thank the Media Center team for their impeccable work and steady communication with the regions.

TASS has already managed to publish several news items based on the results of the press conference, a number of media outlets are also preparing publications, and a story was broadcast in the news feed of NVC Sakha. Thus, the information was interesting.

We have decided to hold a contest among the media and bloggers for the best reporting on the Northern Forum activities from March 1 to December 15, 2024. We will soon publish the Contest Regulations.

The full press conference can be viewed on the YouTube channel of the Republican Media Center.
