On June 24, a delegation of the Republic of Vietnam, represented by the Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Vladivostok, Mr. Nguyen Dang Hien, the consul’s wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thu Kiun, the Consul for Cultural Affairs, Mr. Vu Ngoc Tien, and accompanied by an specialist of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Yakutia, Ustena Illarionova, visited the Northern Forum Secretariat.
At the meeting, the Northern Forum Deputy Executive Director Daryana Maksimova introduced to the delegation of the Republic of Vietnam the Northern Forum structure and activities information, highlighting the interest in cooperation with the regions of Asia due to the organization's membership expansion. The meeting participants also got acquainted with the structure information of the established Russian-Asian Arctic Research Consortium.
In turn, the Consul General of the Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Dang Hien, noted the importance of long-term Russian-Vietnamese relations and their fruitful development in the economic, educational and cultural fields. The Consul General also expressed the interest of the Republic of Vietnam in climate change issues, noting the participation in many international forums.
The Northern Forum Secretariat expressed gratitude to the delegation of the Republic of Vietnam for the visit and hope for cooperation with the country regions in various areas. The participants of the delegation of the Republic of Vietnam were invited to participate in the III Governors Summit of the Northern Forum within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, as well as to participate in the Northern Sustainable Development Forum.
