The Northern Forum Secretariat announces an annual international competition for the best media coverage of the activities of The Northern Forum among media representatives, bloggers and students.

 

The goal of the Competition is to inform about the organization’s activities, as well as to have a positive impact on the general public’s understanding of the problems of the North and the Arctic.

 

Criteria

  1. Each work must be based on specific events and factually accurate;
  2. Each work must be unique and informative, give an idea of the problems being considered;
  3. Each work must be published on a news resource (online media, printed press, video hosting site, audio hosting site).

 

Categories

  1. The best news article about The Northern Forum (events, people, etc.) 2024 - news, interview, report, analytical article, polemical article;
  2. The best multimedia material about The Northern Forum (events, people, etc.) 2024 – TV segment, report, audio/video podcast, radio broadcast, video essay;
  3. The best student article about The Northern Forum (events, persons, etc.) 2024 - news, interview, report, analytical article, polemical article, audio/video podcast, radio broadcast, video essay.

 

Application

Works are accepted from March 1 to December 10, 2024 by e-mail of The Northern Forum Secretariat: . The letter must include the following information:

  1. Name and contact information of the author (for students: current course enrollment);
  2. Title of the work;
  3. Category for participation (informational article, multimedia material, student article);
  4. Brief description of the media where the publication was published;
  5. Brief description of the work;
  6. The work itself, presented as a link to a web resource (if printed edition, in the form of a scanned file);
  7. The Northern Forum Secretariat sums up the competition results within 14 working days after the deadline.

 

Award

Each post will be independently evaluated by members of the Secretariat, who will select winners based on the competition criteria. The winners will be announced on The Northern Forum website: https://www.northernforum.org.

  1. By decision of the Secretariat, the absolute winner will be awarded a diploma and a certificate for a paid trip to the General Assembly of The Northern Forum in 2025.
  2. The category winners will receive a diploma and a certificate for a monetary award of 25,000 rubles for participants from the Russian Federation / 250 USD for participants all round the world.
  3. The results of the competition are published on The Northern Forum website.

 

We encourage all journalists, bloggers and students interested in the topic of the North and the Arctic to take part in the Competition!

The Northern Youth Forum (NYF) is a youth wing of the Northern Forum, consisting of representatives of young people from the age of 16 to 40 years.

Mission of the NYF is to strengthen the spirit of trust and cooperation between young representatives of Northern regions and countries at the stage of personal and professional views’ formation.

Goal of the NYF is to promote the interests and views of young people in solving the problems facing the Northern Forum by using the potential of international youth cooperation.
