On Thursday, 26 December, Vladimir Vasiliev, Executive Director of the Northern Forum, took part in a meeting of the Commission on Compatriots Living Abroad under the Government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra.
The meeting was attended by A. Kharlov, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Ekaterinburg, and E. Shpineva, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Department.
At the meeting Vladimir Vasiliev shared information about the activities of the Northern Forum and its member regions in this direction.
The country is carrying out large-scale work to promote the resettlement of compatriots in Russia. Only Ugra received about 2,500 people - an impressive result!
Rossotrudnichestvo implements special programmes to promote the Russian language and culture and organise visits to Russian regions.
Vladimir Vasiliev also drew attention to another side of the work: attracting compatriots to promote a positive image of Russia and organise events abroad. Since 2023, the Northern Forum has been organising country forums (Mongolia, China), next year - India and other events in which the role of compatriots can be significant.
