The Participants of the Northern Forum Regional Coordinators Committee Meeting planted trees as part of the Garden of Friendship International Action during the XIII International IT Forum and the XIX Save and Preserve International Ecological Action on June 6, 2022 in Khanty-Mansyisk.
The event coincided with the World Environment Day, and was held under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and the International Organization of the Northern Regions The Northern Forum.
The Participants of the Garden of Friendship Action, including representatives of the BRICS and SCO diplomatic missions, participants of the IT Forum, the UNESCO conference and the Northern Forum, planted lilacs and apple trees in person and via videoconferencing, taking over from the Kingdom of Thailand.
It is important to note that the Goodwill Ambassador of the Northern Forum, the President of the Mongol-Sakha Cooperation Society, Ms. Amarzhargal Balzhinnyam and the Executive Director of the Northern Forum Vladimir Vasilev picked up the environmental baton as certificates for the planted trees.
The Governor of the Khanty-Mansyisk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra Natalya Komarova hoped for the impact of the Garden of Friendship Environmental Action on shaping environmental culture and fostering respect for nature around the world.
