Wanderlust, a UK travel magazine, has made a list of the top 20 adventure cruises in the world, and included the Northern Sea Route.
According to Wanderlust, the voyage takes 25 to 28 days and is on offer between July to September.
Prior to 2014, this historic Arctic route was closed to commercial navigation. Now, anyone can go on this cruise. Trips begin in Anadyr (Russia) or Nome (Alaska) and veer north across the Chukchi Sea to Murmansk, says the magazine's website.
Travelers can see the Eskimo villages of Cape Dezhnev, the polar bear dens on Wrangel Island and walruses; taste the cuisine of Northern peoples and learn the history of the conquest of the Arctic.
